I. GRATITUDE
Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world.

This website and collection of brief essays is largely a thank-you. And, while there are many people to say thank you to in my life, this is specifically for the handful of artists/educators who helped me become an artist in the studio and in life. All of the writing and reflection and living represented here has been colored and formed and expressed because of my education in the visual arts. Art is the common thread in these essays and in life as I have experienced it thus far.
So, thank you:
Jim Womack: for seeing something in me and validating something I saw in myself.
Rosie Paschall: for demonstrating the joy of teaching, learning, and creating.
David Faber: for instilling passion in making and process.
David Finn: for introducing critical thinking and critique.
Page Laughlin: for pushing me beyond where I thought I wanted to go.
John Pickel: for believing in me.
Alan Roberts: for teaching me to see.
Steve Murakishi: for instilling rigor and discipline of thought and study.
